1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms are the rules for using playtest, a tool that helps Roblox creators grade, test and pick their game thumbnails and titles. By creating an account or using playtest, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use playtest.
How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. "playtest", "we" and "us" mean playtest. "You" means the person using it.
2. Who can use playtest
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
- A parent or guardian must handle any paid plan.
- You must be allowed to use Roblox under Roblox's own terms.
3. Your account
You sign in with your Roblox account, so keeping that account secure keeps your playtest account secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
If you think someone else has access to your account, disconnect playtest in your Roblox settings, delete any Open Cloud API key you gave us, and tell us on our Discord server.
4. Acceptable use
Please use playtest fairly. You agree that you will:
- Only test games you own, or games you are authorized to manage.
- Follow the Roblox Terms of Use and Community Standards with every thumbnail and title you upload.
And that you will not:
- Abuse AI credits, for example by sharing accounts or automating requests.
- Scrape playtest, or use bots to access it outside the features we provide.
- Resell playtest or give others access to your paid plan.
- Reverse engineer, copy, or try to break the service or the extension.
- Try to get around plan limits, rate limits, or security measures.
- Upload anything illegal, harmful, or that you do not have the rights to use.
5. Your content
Your thumbnails, titles and game assets stay yours. You keep all your rights to them.
To run playtest, you give us a limited permission to store, process and display your content, and to upload it to Roblox on your behalf when you start a test. We use this permission only to provide the service to you, and it ends when you delete the content or your account (except for copies we must keep by law).
You confirm that you have the rights to everything you upload, and that it does not break anyone else's rights.
6. Our content
playtest itself, including its software, design, logo, grading methods, benchmarks and text, belongs to us. These terms give you a personal right to use it while your account is active. They do not give you ownership of it, or the right to copy it or build a competing product from it.
7. The Roblox connection
When you start a test, you allow playtest to take these actions on your game:
- Upload the thumbnails you added to the test.
- Switch which thumbnail is live, on a schedule, to compare them.
- Rename your game's title, if you are testing titles.
- When the test ends, put the winner live if you turned that on, or put your original back if there is no clear winner.
Roblox can change or limit its APIs at any time. If that breaks a feature, we will try to fix it, but we cannot promise every feature will always work. playtest is not affiliated with or endorsed by Roblox Corporation. Roblox is a trademark of Roblox Corporation.
8. Test results
Test results, grades, AI ratings and benchmarks are statistical estimates. They are based on the data available at the time, and they can be wrong, especially with small numbers of players.
playtest helps you make better choices, but we do not guarantee more players, more visits, or more revenue. What you do with the results is your decision.
9. AI features and credits
The AI look test sends your image and title to Google's Gemini API to rate it. Each plan comes with a daily number of AI credits. Unused credits do not roll over, and they have no cash value.
AI ratings can be wrong or inconsistent. Treat them as one opinion, not a final answer.
10. Plans, billing and refunds
playtest has a Free plan and paid plans, Solo Creator and Pro, billed monthly or yearly. Current prices and limits are shown on our website.
- Payments. Stripe processes all payments. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method at the start of each billing period until you cancel.
- Cancelling. You can cancel anytime in the billing portal. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, then it moves to Free.
- Refunds. We do not give refunds for partial billing periods, except where the law requires it. If you were charged by mistake, tell us on our Discord server and we will make it right.
- Changing plans. You can switch plans in the billing portal. Upgrades start right away, with the price adjusted for the rest of the period. Downgrades start at your next renewal.
- Price changes. If we change prices, we will tell you before your next renewal. The new price applies only from that renewal.
- Taxes. Prices may not include sales tax or VAT. Where it applies, it is added at checkout.
11. Ending your account
You can stop using playtest at any time. To delete your account and data, message us on our Discord server.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, misuse the service, or put other users or Roblox at risk. When it is reasonable, we will warn you first and explain why. If we close your account without a good reason, we will refund the unused part of any paid period.
12. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep playtest reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, including that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for a particular purpose. Some places do not allow these exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect or follow-on losses, such as lost players, lost revenue, lost data, or a thumbnail being rejected by Roblox.
- Our total liability for any claim about playtest is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you have not paid us.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer where you live.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [your state], United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. If we ever have a disagreement, please contact us first. Most problems can be sorted out with a conversation.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as playtest grows. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. For important changes, we will let you know in the dashboard or on Discord before they take effect. If you keep using playtest after that, you accept the new terms.
